砾石特征对砾岩力学行为及破坏模式的实验研究

    EXPERIMENTAL STUDY ON GRAVEL CHARACTERISTICS AND THEIR EFFECTS ON MECHANICAL BEHAVIOR AND FAILURE MODES OF CONGLOMERATE

    • 摘要: 砾岩储层因其储量丰富和开发潜力巨大而受到广泛关注。砾岩力学特性和破坏机制与常规储层岩石存在显著差异,现有研究中砾石特性对砾岩变形、强度及裂缝演化的影响规律尚不统一。本文通过对玛湖凹陷砾岩井下岩心试样进行三轴压缩与CT扫描试验,系统研究了砾岩在不同围压条件下的变形、强度和破坏特征。研究发现,随着围压的增加,砾岩表现出脆延转化现象,弹性模量先增大后减小,泊松比整体呈上升趋势。不同取样深度砾岩的力学参数存在差异,弹性模量和峰值强度的变化主要受砾石分布特征控制。砾石粒径分布特征对砾岩的变形和强度参数有重要影响,砾石粒径分布范围过大时,砾岩更易破坏;砾石粒径过小时,试样更易产生大变形;而当砾石粒径大小和分布范围适中时,砾岩的变形和破坏需要更大的加载力。此外,砾岩试样的破坏模式受其砾石粒径分布特征控制,当粒径极小且均匀或当粒径巨大且极不均匀时,破坏模式以绕砾为主,偶见穿砾;而当粒径较大且分布均匀时,以穿砾破坏为主,部分试样中可见绕砾与穿砾并存的现象。研究结果可为砾岩储层高效开发提供重要参考与借鉴。

       

      Abstract: Conglomerate reservoirs attract widespread attention due to their abundant reserves and enormous development potential. However, existing studies show inconsistent results regarding the influence of gravel characteristics on mechanical behavior. This study conducted triaxial compression and CT scanning tests on core samples from the Mahu Sag. The tests examined the deformation, strength, and failure characteristics of the samples under varying burial depths and confining pressures. The results indicate that increasing confining pressure induces a brittle-to-ductile transition. The elastic modulus first increased and then decreased with increasing confining pressure, while Poisson's ratio exhibited a general upward trend. Mechanical parameters also varied among samples from different depths. Variations in elastic modulus and peak strength were primarily controlled by gravel distribution characteristics. The grain-size distribution of gravel critically influenced mechanical behavior: excessive distribution ranges promoted failure, small grain sizes induced large deformations, and moderate sizes and distributions required greater loading forces. Grain-size distribution also governed failure modes. Extremely small uniform grains or large heterogeneous grains generated circumferential failure around gravels, whereas large uniformly distributed grains produced predominantly transgranular failure; some samples displayed both circumferential and transgranular patterns. These findings provide essential references for the efficient development of conglomerate reservoirs.
