    RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN CREEP BEHAVIOR OF FAULT GOUGE AND ITS WATER CONTENTS

    • The instantaneous mechanical properties and creep behavior of fault gouge are closely related with its water content. Its mechanical parameters will decrease with increasing water content and the relationship between them shows a negative exponential function. Demarcation of water content has great practical significance. The demarcated water content for f 246 gouge in a studied zone is 8 to 10 percents.
