    南海南部礼乐滩及其邻域活动断裂分析

    ACTIVE FAULTS OF LIYUETAN AND ITS ADJACENT AREA IN THE SOUTHERN SOUTH CHINA SEA

    • 摘要: 单道和多道地球物理调查表明南海南部礼乐滩及其邻域的活动断裂主要有NE和NW向2组。礼乐滩珊瑚礁区主要分布有NE向断裂系,于晚白垩纪-早古新世华南东南陆缘的一次张性构造运动形成,强烈活动于晚白垩世早古新世,晚第三纪以来继承性活动,以张剪性断裂为主,现今活动性中等至弱。NW向断裂主要分布在巴拉望岛附近海域中,以张剪性断裂为主,具有走滑性质,切割至基底,强烈活动于早中新世至上新世,第四纪仍有活动,均为弱活动断裂。SN向断裂只有零星分布。该区历史上有火山活动纪录,地震活动较少。

       

      Abstract: Base on the data of seismic profile, the paper analyses the characteristics of the structures and activities of active faults of Liyuetan and its adjacent area, the Southern South China Sea. Two groups of active faults in NE and NW directions exist in the area. The NE active faults, formed during the extension of the epicontinent of southeastern China in the late Cretaceous and early Paleocene, are mainly exists in coral reef areas of Liyuetan and its adjacnet area. It had intensive activity in late Cretaceous and early Paleocene, and kept active in late Tertiary. It is mainly an expanding-shearing fault and now has medium and weak activity. The NW faults mainly exists in the area near Palawan. It is an extending-shearing and left-slip fault which cuts the basement. It had intensive activity from early Miocene and Pliocene. It is still active in Quaternary but only a fault with weak activity. There are only a few SN faults in this area. The area has records of volcano and few earthquake activities in the history.
