Abstract: Based on the field investigation and previous studies, the paper describes the hydrogeological characteristics and groundwater circulation in Beishan area, Gansu province, one potential site for high-level radioactive nuclear waste disposal of China . The regional groundwater flow pattern is discussed on recharge characteristics, discharge paths and boundary conditions.
