Abstract: Article includes three aspects,the first describes the relation between the engineering geology and the preservation of stone monuments, the second describes the engineering problems in the preservation of stone monuments, the third describes the application of the engineering geologcal methodologies in the preservation of stone monuments.meanwhile,author summarizes past practices that the engineering geologcal theoretics apply on the preservation of stone monuments, renewedly make certain the station and the action of the engineering geology in engineering practices of the preservation of stone monuments,the engineering geologcal problems and the research directions of the preservation of stone monuments.
