Abstract: Combined with urbanization and characteristic of new cities, this paper focused on geological environment and engineering problems. And several serious problems were discussed such as geo-hazards in the construction of new cities, groundwater & water environment, solid waste & polluted water/soil, and environmental engineering problems of rock & soil induced by the underground construction. Based on these discussions, some important opinions were believed that human beings should be concordance with earth and be friendly to nature, which should be mastered and monitored by the government. Also, the combination of various professions, innovation, and the application of intelligent controlling & computer technology were important to ensure this concordance.
