    HONG KONG LANDSLIP PREVENTION AND ITS SOCIAL BENEFITS

    • 摘要: 香港市政建设主要是在20°~50°的自然山坡上进行的。滑坡灾害是香港最严重的自然灾害现象。自1950年以来,香港工程师和科研人员在滑坡灾害控治方面做了大量的工作和研究,取得了很多重要的成果,在多年实践中建立了综合全面性的市区滑坡灾害管理体系,并在实际应用中进行完善。这些努力使得香港斜坡安全达到了世界上最高级的标准。香港滑坡灾害管理与防治工作为香港的建设与繁荣做出了贡献,其经验与技术应有利于内地和世界其他城市的相关工作。

       

      Abstract: The urban development and infrastructure of Hong Kong are basically built on hillside slopes of 20 to 50 degrees. Landslide hazard is therefore the severest natural hazard phenomenon in Hong Kong. Since 1950s, in particular, since 1975, engineers and researchers in Hong Kong have done tremendous work and investigations in landslide hazard control and mitigation. They have made many significant achievements. Over the many years, they have established a comprehensive methodology on urban landslide hazard management and mitigation. This methodology has been improved and refined during ongoing engineering practice. The efforts have enabled Hong Kong slope safety to become the highest standard in the world. The landslide hazard management and prevention have contributed significantly to the development and prosperities of Hong Kong. Such experience and methodology should benefit to the relevant work in the Mainland China and other cities in the world.
