Abstract: Soil arching effect is a hot topic in foundation project in decades years. But there are many problems related to it that should be given more attentions. In this paper, several aspects of soil arches in foundation project are analyzed, including the types of soil arches and the groundwater effect to the destruction of soil arches. The analysis and firstfruits is to impel the soil arches theory forward.
