Abstract: Based on a comprehensive review of current status of risk assessment in the rocky desertification areas and considering the causes of rocky desertification,a new hazard degree assessment index system for rocky desertification areas was proposed in this paper.Afterwards,index weight has been quantified and normalized.And finally,with the vulnerable degree for assessment of debris flow,the vulnerable degree and the risk index for the assessment of rocky desertification have been obtained.
