    HIGHLIGHTS OF ONE WEIR IN EASTERN CHINA CONSTRUCTED 1177A AGO

    • 摘要: 它山堰位于中国浙江省宁波鄞江镇,是中国四大古水利工程之一。从公元833年唐朝初建成的1177年以来,一直在为它所在地鄞西平原发挥着阻咸(即防止海水入侵)蓄淡、排洪、引灌的作用。本文从该水利工程规划、设计和建设8个方面揭示分析了中国古人在应用水力学原理,如分流学和力学、工程结构中所显示出的智慧。

       

      Abstract: As one of the four most famous historical hydrological engineering projects,theTuoshan Weir,sitting at Ningjiang Town,Ningbo City,is well preserved with normal operation up to now.From its construction at 833 AD,Tang Dynasty,it plays roles in isolation of salty(sea)water,prevention of flooding and irrigation in this area.From viewpoints of scientific plan,design and construction,this paper presents the high level of wisdom recorded in this hydrological engineering from 8aspects as hydraulics,mechanics,etc.
