    ADAPTABILITY OF UNIFORMITY COEFFICIENT METHOD FOR SEEPAGE DEFORMATION TYPE OF GRAVEL COHESIONLESS COARSE-GRAINED SOIL

    • This paper examines the adaptability of the uniformity coefficient method for adjusting the seepage deformation type of cohesionless coarse-grained soil. Experimental verification and other methods combining with theory analysis are adapted to test the adaptability of this method. Statistical analysis is done on experimental results of seepage deformation of 313 samples in 43 projects. The results indicate that only the third rule is suitable in the three rules of B.C Istormingna uniformity coefficient. The first and second rules are not suitable and the result of the first one is even totally opposite to the actual experimental result. So we can draw a conclusion that B.C Istormingna uniformity coefficient method is not applicable in general to adjust the deformation type of cohesionless coarse-grained soil.
