REGIONAL GEOLOGY AND GEOLOGICAL HAZARDS IN THE PROJECT OF WATER DIVISION FROM THE SOUTH TO THE NORTH VIA THE WESTEM COURSE, CHINA

    • The west route of South to North water transfer project is located in SE Qinghai and Nw Sichuan of the northeastem Qinghai-Tibet plateau. It is located at the Bayankela block,Yidun island arc zone and Changdu plate and their junction in geological tectonic units.where landforms are complx, valleys are deeply incised, neotectonic movement is very intense and earthquakes occur frequently, engineering geological conditions are relatively complicated, geological hazards are repeated occurrence in the area.Main geological hazards problems such as earthquake, active faults, high geotemperature damage, freezing, permafrost and freeze injury, bursting of high pressure water and mud,and landslides and debrisflows. Based on the studies of the regional geology and geological hazards in the project of water division, some measures is put forward about these geological hazards problems in the article.
