PROGRESS AND CONSIDERATION IN RESEARCH ON THE ENGINEERING MECHANICS PROBLEMS OF FROZEN SOIL

    • The research on frozen soil become ample along with increasing the cold region engineering constructions, such as Qinghai-Tibet Highway, Qinghai-Tibet Railway, Petroleum Pipeline, East-to-West Gas Pipeline, et al. It is sure that mechanics problems run through the research on frozen soil. In this paper, two aspects are mainly discussed about progress in mechanics problems of frozen ground engineering. One is the quiet great progress in coupling questions of water, heat, force, distortion, because frozen soil is influenced by many factors and the phenomena are not described by a certain condition; the other is the comprehensive study on frozen ground dynamics characteristics, because the frozen ground roadbed is observably influenced by dynamic loads.
