ANALYSIS ON STABILITY AND IMPROVEMENT FOR THE LANDFILL OF EMBANKMENT

Three kinds of improvement method are put forward in the design of expressway embankment for expan-live soil in Hubei province. It is clear that the value of C and is improved in different extent with inforcement by the analysis of slope stability with the software of Geo-slope. Load on the top of embankment can be transferred to the bottom effectively by the geomaterial,which can mitigate the settlement of embankment remarkably. The three methods are reasonable and effective in improving the expansive embankment and can be applied into engineering of expansive soil in a large scale.
