    REVIEW AND INTENTION ON THE CALCULATION AND DESIGN OF STABILIZING PILES

    • The methods for design and calculation of stabilizing piles, which includes the method of load-structure popularly applied in China and the methods proposed by Viggani C., Ito Tomio etc, Poulos H. G. etc, are systematically commented. The methods could contribute to two types, the first is based on limit equilibrium, such as the method of load-structure and Viggani C., Ito Tomio etc; the second is based on displacement compatibility which conditioning with limit load. It is the intention for stabilizing piles design to set up a method with displacement compatibility and displacement control based on the principle of soil-structure interaction, which could be realized by the technique of sub-structural finite element, but further research should be paid for.
