EMERGENCY MEASURES TO CONTROL INTENSIVE GROUND DISPLACEMENT OF TONGLUSHAN ANCIENT MINE SITE

    • The ancient mine site of Tonglvshan was authorized by The Central People's Government of The People's Republic of China as nation-wide key cultural relics conservation unit in 1982, and was protected by building museum in 1984. Some ground displacement was observed in the second half of 2006, and formed three displacement areas: No.3 Road landslide, Lawn-Factory of quick-setting agent, and the differentia sedimentation of this museum. This displacement is characterized as typical mechanical behaviors: tensile crack, sedimentation settling, and clockwise twisting. The distribution of fissures is desribed as follows: parallel with the west slope, inclining free face, and dense near slope sparse far slope. This distribution is the result of side expand of west slope and dextrorotation inclining, which are caused by open mining of west mine site and blasting. A united surveying group is organized by many departments of the government of Huangshi City, and takes some emergency measures to control the intensive displacement such as patroling, pausing mining, punshing steal, and so on. Also, some important projects were conducted, including protection engineering of slope, safety monitoring, building repairment. And the protection regulations of Tonglvshan ancient mine site was legislated and efective. All the above measures were conducted to ensure the permanent protection of the world culture heritage.
