GEOLOGICAL ENGINEERING ENVIRONMENT AND GEOLOGICAL DISASTER PREVENTION IN THE ANCIENT SITE PROTECTION REGIONS OF SILK ROAD (IN CHINA)

    • Silk Road has been recorded in history for its outstanding function to boost human civilization and progress. China is the starting point of Silk Road. There is a great deal of ancient sites of Silk Road in northwest China, the good protection of which is part of national sustainable development strategy as well as the development of the west strategy. Such ancient sites exist in certain geological environment, the change of it and geological disaster are the important causes of ancient sites damage. Under the guidance of earth system science, this paper formed the research frame of geological engineering environment and geological disaster prevention in the ancient site protection regions, and the major problems related to which were discussed as well.
