    PRIMARY EXPLORATION OF THE GEOLOGICAL ENGINEERING ENVIRONMENT REGIONALIZATION OF ANCIENT CONSTRUCTION SITE PROTECTION IN NORTHWEST CHINA

    • The ancient constructions exist in certain geological environment. The whole aim of the site protection projects is to use engineering measures to make it adapt to the geological change. The regional geological engineering environment of the site location in northwest China is characterized by, firstly, the complex earth formation trellis and special land dynamics environment, secondly, relief alternating with mountains and basins and multiple rock and soil types, thirdly, the intense internal and external dynamic forces of geologic process, such as, fault activities, earthquakes, avalanches, landslides, debris flows, weathering, fourthly, little rainfall, much evaporation and wind, great difference in temperature, and frequent disaster weather event, lastly, fragility of ecology environment. The paper not only discussed the principle of the geological engineering environment regionalization of the ancient construction protection, but also put forward its design.
