    APPLICATION OF MONTE-CARLO SIMULATION TO THE STUDY OF SHEAR STRENGTH OF JOINTED ROCK MASS

    • In this paper, theoretical basis of Monte-Carlo simulation is introduced at first ,then the method and pxnce-dare of applying it to simulate the shear strength of jointed rock mass in a hydroelectric power station was analysed. The simulation results was checked against the shear strength parameters of other methods .The feasibility and reliability of using Monte Carlo simulation to obtain shear strength of jointed rock mass 'in a large area were also studied.
