INFLUENCES OF GEOLOGICAL CONDITIONS ON CONSTRUCTION COST OF SUBWAY IN SHANGHAI CITY

The influences of geological condition on the cost of Shanghai subway construction is discussed in this paper . Four influencing factors in soft soil area are presented, such as engineering characters of Shanghai shallow soils, veracity of geotechnical investigation, environmental survey before the subway construction by shield method and engineering geology investigation. Examples for reduction of subway construction cost are provided as well. The discussion has important value on how to optimize designs and reduce cost of subway construction .
