Abstract
Studied on the phreatic aquifer, the mechanism of the land subsidence and the characteristics of soil compaction due to dewatering were analyzed. Based on the viscoelastic stress-strain relationship with the consideration of soil-pore water reaction, the models of land subsidence and horizontal displacement due to dewatering of foundation pit were proposed, and the analytical solutions to the models were obtained.
