    AN APPLICATION OF DISTRIBUTED OPTIC FIBER STRAIN MEASUREMENT TO EARLY-WARNING OF LANDSLIDE

    • The newest development of Brillouin Optical Time Domain Reflectometry (BOTDR) application in large infrastructure engineering monitoring is presented. Based on the monitoring characteristics of landslide early-warning, BOTDR's application feasibility to the early-warning of landslide is discussed. It is demonstrated that BOTDR is outstanding with its distributed monitoring, long distance and real-time monitoring, so that it fully meets the demand of the early-warning of landslide and health monitoring of slope project. However there are still many relative topics to study such as temperature impact, installation methods of fiber optic sensor, fatigue effect of optical fiber.
