The economy and urbanization of Shenzhen are progressing rapidly; geological environmental problems are aggravated gradually. The main geological environmental problems include slope disasters, siltation of river courses and mouths, contamination of water and soils, tectonic instability and hidden karst collapses. The problems above mentioned will restrict Shenzhen socio-economical development; we must strive for the urbanization sustainable development between the exploitation and protection. The key to prevention the environmental geological problem is that the interaction between the urbanization and geological environment will be known and paid attention to.
