THE STATE AND PROGRESS OF STUDY ON SALT TRANSFER IN FREEZING SOILS

    • As to soil containing salt, salt will be transferred with water in freezing soils and assembled and crystallized continuously. Consequently the swelling of the soil volume leads to the phenomenon of salt heavy. It has practical significance for solving salt-heaving and frost-heaving damage problem in engineering to deepen the understanding of salt heavy mechanism. In this paper a general overview about new research results at this aspect at home and abroad was presented. And then the study of salt transfer and salt heavy mechanism and present salt heavy models were summarized. For further researching the field of salt transfer it is urgent to continually strengthen the salt transfer and the numerical value simulation study of salt heavy mechanism to expect perfecting the general evaluation of salt heavy prediction models so as to have a better service for engineering construction.
