ENGINEERING GEOLOGY FACTORS AROUND WEIZHOU ISLAND AND ITS NORTHEAST SEA AREA

There are various kinds of engineering geology factors around Weizhou Island and its northeast sea area, which have latent threat and hidden trouble to the marine exploitation activities and engineering construction. Based on recent observation data and historical data, we analyse the engineering geological types such as benthal obstacles, coral reefs, bedrockcropping out、high dip slope、sand liquefaction、paleo channel on the surface of seabed and shallow stratum in the study area. Their distribution and cause of formation are discussed, thus scientific information could be provided to marine resource exploitation and project construction, therefore the harmfulness caused by the geological disaster could be reduced or avoided.
