LATE PLEISTOCENE BURIED PALEO-CHANNEL SEDIMENTARY HISTORY IN THE PEARL RIVER ESTUARY

More and more geophysical and borehole data accumulated in the Pearl River Estuary with the economic development which offer the possibilities to rebuilt the sedimentary history of the paleo-channels since Late Pleistocene. The paper analysis the shape, distribution and sedimentary environment of the paleo-channels in the Pearl River Estuary based on 2000 km high resolution shallow seismic profiles combine with borehole and chronology data, a paleo Pearl River pattern was rebuilt since Late Pleistocene in today's estuary.
