    DEVELOPMENT OF AN APPARATUS FOR PILE MODEL TESTS UNDER CYCLIC LOADING

    • Recently, with rapid developments in constructions for tall, huge, deep and heavy structures in China, piles may often bear cyclic loading. An apparatus is therefore needed for pile model tests under cyclic loading in research and application. Referred to related researches, a specific testing system, which may be used for pile model tests under cyclic loading, was developed integrated with loading and measuring devices in a large steel vessel. According to the results of typical tests, it has been found that the apparatus can model fundamental bearing aspects of a single pile under cyclic loading and produce stable and accurate data during tests.
