STABILITY BASED METHOD FOR DETERMINING LOADINGS ON RETAINING STRUCTURES OF SLOPES

It is noted that the loadings on slope retaining structures are calculated with the conventional earth pressure theory. The paper analyzes the limitations associated with the current method in the determination of loadings on slope retaining structures and puts forward a stability based method to determine the loadings on slope retaining structures . This proposed method can remedy the limitations of the conventional earth pressure theory.
