    RELATION BETWEEN LOESS COLLAPSIBILITY AND PHYSICAL PROPERTIES AND ITS ENGINEERING SIGNIFICANCE

    • Based on the study of loess collapsible mechanism,the interactions of the loess collapsibility and physical properties in Eastern Gansu Province,P.R.China are analyzed.The correlation equation between collapsible coefficient and water content,porosity,plasticity index(clay content)is developed with multifactor regression.The results show that collapsible coefficient correlated physical index better and the collapsible amounts calculated by the correlation equation are near to the test amount.It rightly reflects collapsible law changed with depth.This equation has a good value in engineering to estimate collapsible loess site.
