PRELIMINARY RESULTS OF NUMERICAL SIMULATION OF HYDROMECHANICAL BEHAVIOUR OF FRACTURED ROCK MASS

    • The numerical simulation results show that equivalence in continuum model of fluid flow in fractured rock in terms of flux and seepage forces deformation can not be deduced from each other; that continuum model is not applicable to fractures with the remarkable difference in hydromechanical features; but variation of its hydraulic parameters with stress can be easily obtained through the numerical simulation. Results from the field data indicate that it would be too rough to assume that fractures in rock are completely interconnected, and that in situ experiment result seems to reveal the behavior of fractured rock not on the RE V scale, but on the local scale.
