    RESEARCH ON THE METHOD FOR PREDICTION OF EARTHQUAKE-INDUCED LANDSLIDES AND ITS APPLICATION TO ENGINEERING PROJECTS

    • Data of ground collapses and landslides caused by historical earthquakes are studied in this paper and a method for grading prediction of the collapses and landslides in West China is suggested. (1) Criteria for defining relationship between the maximum epicentral distance of landslides and earthquake magnitude; (2) A series of factors, such as geological and geomorphologic conditions, precipitation and seismic parameters, are carefully studied, zoned and quantified. The prediction method is examined in the case of Lijing earthquake induced landslides in Yunnan Province.
