THE ELASTIC RESISTANCE METHOD FOR DESIGN OF FOUNDATION PIT SUPPORTING

The conventional method for design of foundation pit supporting is reviewed. The basic principle of the elastic resistance method is explained. The definite answers to the problems of choice of soil pressure distribution mode and the displacement coordination for computing model of multi supporting sheet are given in the paper. The thinking and step for foundation pit supporting design with the elastic resistance method are interpreted with a practical example.
