  • In this paper, the source and connotation of Applied Quaternary was expounded, its development process was reviewed in the round as well. By three examples of hydrological engineering environment, we showed the value of Applied Quaternary research in practical engineering. Based on the current Research Status, we recognize it is necessary to develop the core theory of Applied Quaternary research, that is,Supergenesis Kinetics under human activities disturbance. Moreover, 13 important future research focus were pointed out.
