DISCUSSION ON COMPREHENSIVE SURVEY TECHNOLOGY OF BUILDING SITE IN AREA WITH STRONG KARST DEVELOPMENT

    • This paper presents a three-dimensional geological model constructed from drilling and tube wave geophysical exploration results, based on the high-rise building project situated on a typical limestone site in Guangzhou. The 3D geological model enabled the visualization of karst features on the site. The comprehensive survey method was structured into three phases: detailed investigation, advanced drilling investigation, and 3D geological model construction. Initially, the detailed investigation revealed that the site exhibits extreme instability, with strong karst development and a high risk of collapse. Subsequently, advanced drilling combined with tube wave geophysical exploration further elucidated karst formations at the pile foundation. Finally,EVS analysis software was utilized to construct the three-dimensional geological model using formation data obtained from both drilling and tube wave methods. Comparative validation indicates that the accuracy of this 3D geological model exceeds 80%. A survey framework characterized by "point, surface, and site" emerged from this comprehensive survey approach integrating "drilling points, tube wave geophysical exploration, and three-dimensional geology." The findings demonstrate that this integrated survey method and framework can effectively reveal karst development in an accurate and intuitive manner, provide reliable guidance for project lifecycle management as well as subsequent operation and maintenance, and serve as an effective reference for urban surveys in karst regions.
