Abstract
The dams of barrier lakes are usually loose and weak, and they are very likely to fail when subjected to strong aftershocks or heavy rains, which may bring tremendous disasters. This paper analyzes the stability of a barrier lake dam before and after the rise of water table, as well as the dynamic response to an aftershock.
