PROGRESS AND DEVELOP TREND OF THE STUDY ON REGIONAL CRUSTAL STABILITY IN CHINA

The study of regional crustal stability is a branch(field) of engineering geology of Chinese particularity, developing with the demonstration of regional geological conditions and environments of the large engineering and economy constructions in our country step by step. The progress and develop trend of the regional crustal stability estimation are generalized. Emphasis is made on the following 3 representative theories of the regional crustal stability estimation: "safety island" theory, structural control theory and engineering geology regional stability theory. Considering the main confronted tasks, several important develop trends of the regional crustal stability estimation in future are put forward, that is, the internationalization trend, theory and technical diversification trend, three-dimensional stability estimation and small regionalization trend in city, information system trend based on GIS technique and the trend of serving the national important site selection, construction, run and management in whole course.
