QUANTITATIVE ZONATION OF ENGINEERING GEOLOGY FOR LINZHI-BASU SECTION IN SICHUAN-TIBET HIGHWAY

    • For linear geo-engineering projects like highway and railway, complicated engineering geological conditions are to be coped with due to various geomorphological and geological units dissected. The fundamental and first thing is to carry out zoning according to engineering geological situations. Previous researches paid attentions on the qualitative zoning, which is difficult to ensure its feasibility in engineering design, construction and prevention of geological hazards. Based on plentiful approaches on analysis of engineering geological situations as layers comparative analysis, fuzzy evaluation, and interaction matrix, etc, this paper presents the case example in use of the interaction matrix approach to deal with associated data for evaluation of engineering geological situations and quantitative zonation. As a result, 8 zonations and 19 sub-zonations were depicted with comparison and evaluations of engineering geological situations for highway engineering application between Basu and Linzhi section in the Sichuan-Tibet Highway.
