THE CHARACTERISTICS OF SATURATED SILT IN AND AROUND SHIJIAZHUANG CITY

Based on collecting and analyzing the mechanical properties of saturator silt on many fields of survey and foundation treatment in and around Shijiazhuang City, saturated silt is explored to have a low bearing capacity and big deformation in situ, while a relatively high bearing capacity and small deformation in laboratory. This paper also discusses the reason of the discrepancy. Finally, the comprehensive evaluation and improving measures of saturator silt are put forward to remedy the coresponding normal.
