Abstract
This paper incorporates the Morgenstern-Price method with the Monte-carlo simulation for reliability analysis of slope stability. The approach is further applied to the reliability analysis of the slope stability of the downstream levee on the Yellow River in Kaifeng. Sampling method is used in the reliability analysis. The spatial variability of soil parameters is taken into consideration. The paper further discusses the effects of the correlation of soil parameters on the reliability index. Some more reasonable results are obtained. The approach and results presented in this paper are useful to the safety evaluation of slopes on Yellow River.
