    • Hazard potential evaluation of regions underlain mined caverns is one of difficult technical problems in highway engineering.Two-dimensional and three-dimensional FEM are applied to evaluate the hazard potential of underground mined caverns to the highway on their above ground.The underground caverns are multi-layered and inclined.The numerical results show that the mined caverns have potential hazards to highway.The affected zone along the highway must be improved.
