Abstract
The attenuation relationships are presented in terms of peak ground acceleration, vertical to horizontal ratio, specific ratio and the response spectra for given period based on site and focal mechanisms of the worldwide free-field near-fault records. A comparison of these relationships is made with the research result for Chi-Chi earthquake. It can be concluded that the influence of combined site and focal mechanism on near-fault ground motions is remarkable.
