Abstract
One-dimensional general model of land subsidence due to pumping is deduced and a semi-analytical method is used to solve this deviatoric differential equation. The model takes vertical effective stress as a basic variatable and considers the variation of permeability coefficient and compression coefficient with the vertical effective stress. The actual case shows that the result from the proposed model is much better than Terzaghis theory and very close to the measured result.
