DISCUSSION ON SOME VIEWPOINTS OF GEOLOGICAL HAZARDS CONTROL FROM GEOLOGY AND ENGINEERING DESIGN

    • Some viewpoints of geological hazards control are discussed from geology and engineering design in detail according to the authors experiences and others. The basic problem of geological viewpoint is mechanism analysis of deformation or destruction of geological hazards. The principal target of engineering design is optimum seeking of engineering processing programs for geological hazard control. One right conclusion is drawn that the best effect of geological hazard control is from the combination of geology with engineering design Besides, the relation between prediction, monitoring feedback, effectiveness examination of an engineering construction is studied in this article. Meanwhile, a relation to be a good companion between geological engineer and design engineer is emphasized. Finally, a good example of application about the aforementioned geological hazard control theory to Lianziya dangerous rock body on Three Gorges of Yangtze River in China is described.
